In this paper the concept of “art” during the Renaissance period will be explored. The visual arts, for instance, “offer a broad view of humanity and influence our self-perceptions”(Shea, 2005). The art influences the culture greatly. There are some kinds of it, and each one has found its expression in our everyday’s life. The art helps people to express themselves and to show something unusual and peculiar in the form of painting, sculpture, etc. For example, an artist draws a picture, and with the help of it he conveys some message to viewers.
The Renaissance period influenced the English literature the most of all. The most famous writers of that time were: William Shakespeare, John Milton, Edmund Spencer, Christopher Marlowe, Sir Francis Bacon and Sir Thomas More. These writers told about the English Christian beliefs, the history of London, ideas on Utopian society and humanity, and English thought on life and death. The music during this period became varied, and a new school of music was created. The concept of “art” is instrumental in the society’s past, present, and future, because it educates people and promotes an individual’s development. This concept is a part of everyday’s societal living, because people listen to the music, draw pictures, create different sculptures, study art at universities, enjoy exhibitions, go to museums, read books, create famous examples of works, teach painting in schools, and speak about different problems using the ideas of great thinkers.
The concept of “art” is very effective in our everyday’s society and it is a very realistic part of society’s changes and development over the years, because it changes with the society’s development. One can observe significant, distinct, and substantial changes in a variety of art forms. This concept is also still relevant, because it marks every change in a person’s thinking.
