Family is a social unit with its own rules, strategies, and behavior. The similarity is in difference of these patterns. Usually, family as an entity depends on divergent factors which determine the strategies in the family’s life. These factors can have social, economical, political and very often religious basis.
The idea that mostly all families repeat patterns of interaction from previous generations has the right to exist. Before we start relationship, we compete with our fears and compare believes to our expectations according to what we have seen and experienced in our families.
Among all these factors, there are external and internal boundaries. Boundary rules can often be traced from the family of origin. It does not mean that they stick out though having the unseen influence which causes conflicts. Moreover, boundary rules determine the level of freedom and, in many cases, influence tolerance. If relationships in the family are disengaged, there are reasons to affirm that there is a place for high tolerance. However, in the family with enmeshed relationship, tolerance can be lower.
I believe that the efficacy of the family depends only on the members of the family. If they are ready to act as a whole and tolerate differences, it will help each of the family members to support unconditionally the development and growth of the family that will aid others to progress.
